We are pleased to announce that the contract: Study on 'The role and increasing weight of the national Economic and Social Councils at national level' was awarded to us by the European Economic and Social Committee.

The research will cover the National Economic and Social Councils (NESC) and similar institutions in France, Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal and Italy.

The National Economic and Social Councils (NESC) and similar institutions in EU member states play a significant role in advising governments on economic and social policies. While the specific functions can vary from country to country, they have some common roles. The National Economic and Social Councils play a crucial role in promoting participatory governance, evidence-based policymaking, and social cohesion by bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise to address the complex challenges facing modern societies. NESCs provide independent and expert policy advice to the government on a wide range of economic and social issues. This advice is based on research, analysis, and consultations with various stakeholders, including employers, trade unions, and civil society. They serve as a forum for consultation and dialogue between the government and representatives of different societal groups. They also provide policy research and analysis: NESCs often conducts research and analysis on economic and social trends, providing the government with valuable information to make informed policy decisions. This research may cover topics such as employment, education, poverty, and environmental sustainability.
