Rana Kassas is a public international law scholar and legal regulatory consultant. She completed her Ph.D. thesis at Kent Law School, University of Kent, on the Public-Private Distinction in Investment Treaty Arbitration (specifically, in Investor-State Dispute Settlement). Previously, Rana earned an LL.M. in International Business Law from the Université Catholique de Lyon, and a post-graduate diploma in European Business Law from the University of Oxford.
Beyond academia, she is a certified environmental specialist that has experience in legal regulatory consulting for Fortune 500 clients in the fields of environment, health, consumer protection, and foreign investment compliance. She has also collaborated on projects with the Energy Charter Secretariat, the United Nations (OSLA), the Max Planck Institute, and the International Mediation Institute.
